Description
LVUPS-140-UN1-OF is a universal buffer module designed for use with 12V or 24V vehicle installations. It enables an additional battery to be connected to an existing vehicle installation and simultaneously powers output devices such as mobile recorders or IP cameras.
The main task of the module is to ensure that the network equipment continues to work even when the vehicle is switched off. This makes it possible to carry out monitoring both while driving and when stationary, without the risk of discharging the car's main battery.

Basic applications:
- Mobile monitoring on passenger vehicles and trucks
- Video monitoring on construction machines
- Monitoring of forklifts, loaders, excavators
- Supply of telemetry and fleet security systems
LVUPS-140-UN1-OF module automatically detects the operating state of the vehicle (ignition/rest) based on the supply voltage. While the vehicle is running, the additional battery is charged and, when the vehicle is stopped, it takes over as the power source for connected devices.
The system can be used with either a 12V or 24V installation. Depending on the type of battery connected, the same voltage is available at the converter output as in the additional battery.
| Installation voltage | Battery | Output voltage | Maximum current | Maximum power |
| 12V | 12V | 14,4V | 5A | 70W |
| 12V | 24V | 28,8V | 2,5A | 70W |
| 24V | 12V | 14,4V | 5A | 70W |
| 24V | 24V | 28,8V | 5A | 140W |
Indication on the device is provided by two LEDs (CHARGE and DISCHARGE), which show which operating state the device is in and the current battery charge.
LED CHARGE – Charge voltage detected at Vin connector:
- Blue – converter configuration
- Green (LED flashes) – battery charged
- Green – high level of battery capacity
- Yellow – medium level of battery capacity
- Red – low level of battery capacity
- Red (LED flashes) – no input voltage
LED DISCHARGE – No Vin input voltage (battery operation):
- Green – high level of battery capacity
- Yellow – medium level of battery capacity
- Red – low level of battery capacity
- Red (LED flashes) – no battery
During normal operation, only one LED should be lit. However, during operation from an additional battery, configuration, or restart of the converter, two LEDs may be lit.
Key features and functions:
- possibility to create a buffer system in vehicles
- ensuring operation of devices after turning off the engine without discharging the main battery
- automatic power supply detection minimises interference with the vehicle's installation
- support for 12V and 24V installations
- up to 140 W output power (for 24V/24V configuration)
- clear indication of operating mode and battery capacity level
- wide operating temperature range (-25°C...+65°C)
LVUPS-140-UN1-OF is a reliable solution that stands out for its flexibility, high performance and intelligent energy management. It provides stable power for key systems in your vehicle, protecting the main battery from discharge.
- It is distinguished from other solutions by its ability to work with both 12V and 24V installations, its high output power and its clear LED indication.
- Thanks to its high efficiency, it allows for long operating times of powered devices at a stationary standstill.
- Provides full protection and power stability for vehicle communication equipment.
- Helps to protect property and carry out continuous monitoring - even when stationary.
Can be installed anywhere in the vehicle installation. Automatically detects ignition status and charges the battery while driving. No additional control signals are required, which minimises interference with the vehicle installation.
The OF (Open Frame) design allows the device to be built into any enclosure, but the most convenient way to do this is with dedicated ABOX series enclosures and mounting plates, fitted with a special hole pattern in the 10.8mm grid. This is compatible with the mounting hole spacing of the built-in modules. This system solution allows the selected devices to be mounted vertically or horizontally in any punched-out part of the housing or mounting plate.
Installation notes
- The module can be connected anywhere on the installation, minimising interference with the vehicle structure.
- The battery charging current equals the maximum current minus the output consumption. As the battery voltage increases, the charging current decreases.
- The 140W output is only achieved with a 24V installation and 24V battery.
